Pelewasfound as a stray by Animal Services with his pal Toto. They were extremelyill and listed as seniors. Our veterinarian diagnosed them with a rare type ofEhrlichia (a disease transmitted by ticks) that attaches the liver. They neededvarious treatments around the clock to keep them alive. A few days in to treatment,Toto went into liver failure and was not strong enough to make it.  Pelealso turned jaundice with a weak liver but was able to recover. As the weeksand tests passed, Pele was healthy enough to receive the vaccines and the regularvetting needed for adoption. As his health improved, his playful personalitybegan to shine and we learned he is only three years old.

Pele’sadoption donation went towards his medical care but we are still paying the vetbill for him and Toto. We would deeply appreciate your support in sponsoringPele’s & Toto’s vet fees. Alldonations are tax deductible

Bobeecame to our rescue from his owner who could not longer handle his medicalneeds. Bobee was diagnosed with an abnormal thyroid and placed on dailymedication. He also experienced a seizure which also alarmed his owner enoughfor them to want to place him in another home. Sometimes medical problems aretoo much too handle. Bobee did not know he was sick and wanted so much to playand be part of a family. We scooped Bobee up and brought him to our wonderfulveterinarians who reassessed the situation. He was given the proper dosage ofhis thyroid medications and supplements to assure him a long happy life. He hasbeen in foster care with a very loving foster family who took him after hisfirst foster home stabilized his meds and started him on his much needed exerciseroutine. His medications will be necessary but hopefully after a few months wewill be able to retest him and wean him of. Bobee is one case which is all toocommon in rescue. After owning animals for many years, some people just can n olonger keep them. It is up to organizations such as ours to be able to providethese pets the chance they deserve at a fabulous life. We cannot provide thisopportunity for them without the caring loving foster homes who volunteer aswell as the donations needed to pay for their veterinary care. If you wouldlike to sponsor Bobee or pets in similar predicaments, please make a donationtoday!! Every dollar goes directly to the care of our rescued pets!
