Casmari isan instant companion and child friendly. She is a Poodle/Shih Tzu about 5 yearsold and 13 pounds. When not groomed she wears a long wavy coat. Casmari waswell cared for and vary much loved, but a change in the family health ended upin an emotional break up for family and the two dogs. Casmari’s three year olddaughter went to another home. Casmari would best be placed with thecompanionship another small dog.>>
This is LORYN. She waslabeled "unadoptable" at a shelter because she nipped. It turns outthat she is hearing impaired, and she needs to see you in order to know youwant to touch or hold her, and then she's happy! She has not nipped anyone inher foster household. She loves the car and does her, "I'm soexcited dance" to go out into the yard. She only weighs about 6 pounds,and she's approximately 10 years old. Chihuahuas can live over 20 years, soshe's still a young gal! She would be best in a calm adult home with a lap or two tonestle into regularly! >>
<<BAXTER wasa sad abuse case. He was afraid to be approached and nipped in fear. He hassuffered scaring to both eyes and one ulcerated eye but he can see fine. Healso has lost some teeth from pour nutrition and has since had a dentalcleaning. Baxter is coming into himself and has found confidence & securityin his 4 pound Chihuahua body. He is not nippy any more but he would bebest suited with a calm adult home. At four years old he is now enjoying life!
BETSY baby wandered into a gentleman’s yard and heartbut he is not able to keep her. She is about 2 years old and gets along withother dogs. She is full of kisses and happy to see new people. ThisStaffordshire Bull Terrier/Lab Mix girl has been tested heartworm positivebecause her previous people neglected her heartworm prevention! She is beingtreated now and we are taking applications for her adoption that will be aftercompletion of her treatments in May. Betsy needs an adult home with out cats. Tylerbaby Chihuahuacame to us from a woman who bought a Chihuahuawith congenital problems from a home breeder and the breeder called her aboutthis little 6 week old boy. Tylermay have a broken leg or a congenital defect front leg. He will be gettingx-rays to confirm. His first check up showed he is healthy otherwise and up todate with the first set of puppy vaccines. Regardless of the status of his leg,we do not know if he will have any health problems as he matures. PLEASE thinkabout his possible medical expenses and other care he may need before you jumpto fill out an application for Tyler. >>
<< This is Mrs. Priss. She was abandonedby a family that moved and left her & her parents out side. She’s about two years old and kitty playful. Prissy is a short haired Tuxedo about 7 pounds. She is extremely affectionate and cuddly. She’s good with the small dogs andother cats. Her favorite place to lounge is the front window where she can keeps track of everyone inside and out. Prissy needs a forever in door home that can give her as much affection as she gives out.
Calvino the Rat Terrier puppy was too active for hisfamily. Rat Terriers were bred to hunt rodents so in general they are not goodwith cats, rabbits or birds as pets. Calvino is true to the breed and isactive. He is not hyper but he needs interactive play time at a dog park orregular ball play. He is 20 pounds at a year old so he is full grown. He ispuppy playful and jumpy so he would best be placed to a family with out smallchildren. >>
<< Perrywas surrendered by his owner to animal services. We don’t know the story withthis standard Dachshund, (15lbs.) but we do see how he has been abused so he isfearful of being hurt. Perry is only a year and a half old and doesn’t know howto play. He affectionate when he gains your trust and is vary calm. Perry wouldbest be place in an all adult home with plenty of lap time.
<< RHETT isa 2 year old hug baby. He is so affectionate. He leans into you to show hislove. Rhett is playful and when it comes to tug toys, but easily curls up toyou for a cuddle. Rhett is a Dachshund mix with a smooth soft coat like a Labrador. HeIs active and needs ayard for play & potty time. He would also do well withanother compatible dog for companionship. He is way puppy playful and needsinteractive play.
TheBarron is a one year old Weimaraner whose owners gave him upto a high kill shelter. He is well behaved and knows some basic commands. He’snot a jumper but when you tap your chest he will reach up to give you a hug!Barron will need a home with a fenced in yard and some activity. He has a soreon his elbow, maybe from being on the concrete for too long. >>
<< Sparkle the5 month old puppy was given to a volunteer at a pet supply store parking lot.She is said to be a long haired Chihuahuawhich is possible but she may be a bit of Yorki too. None the less she isdivine. She’s not a chewer or yapper just a kissy baby. Sparkle is doing wellwith potty training. She’s 5 pounds now and seams to have grown into her feetbut she may grow a tad more.
RAQUEL was taken to a vets tobe put to sleep since her owner is too ill to care for her. The vets officeenjoyed Raquel’s personality so they decided to turn her over to rescueinstead! Raquel Is a petite five pound long legged Chihuahua about six years old. Sheneeds to put on some weight but healthy otherwise. She’s well socialized withpeople and dogs. She prances and has a low whimper to tell you what she wants.She’s not a yapper and she’ll be with you where ever you go.>>
<< BOBEE:I am a very sweet and active 8-year-old Lab Mix who is looking for aforever home to love me as much as I will love back!! I am a terrific companionwho loves to play with people and other pets. I am really good at NOT chasingcats and living with other dogs. I love my people too! I give lots ofkisses and dance when you come home from your day. I am currently ona medication to balance a previous thyroid condition but the vetsays eventually I will no longer need this since my clean bill of health was establishedafter coming into the rescue foster home! I don’t ask for much except somelove, attention, a yard to play in and a person to take walks with.
Gi Gi was found by one of our volunteers chained to apublic fence early on a cold morning! She was left a closed bag of dig treatsand a pillow. She was so fearful and cold it took some time to free her fromthe fence. Now in her foster home she is opening up and vary affectionate withcaution. Because of this Gi Gi would best be placed in an adult home. >>
<<NEIMAN MARCUS “TheClassy Guy” was surrendered to a kill shelter by his owner but luckily the humane society took him in thenwe got him into rescue. Neiman is a 16 lb. Shih Tzu mix. about 4yrs old andaffectionate. He is blind in one eye and will need to be on cyclosporine forthe rest of his days in his good eye. He needs to feel love and made to feelthat he is wanted. Once he knows he can trust you and that he will not be hurt,he’s as sweet as cake with ice-cream on top! He would do best in an adult homewith compassion.
Katie~Joy family “had to down size for a move” so they kept oneof her puppies and four year old Katie~Joy is in need of a devoted family. Shecan cuddle for hours and you won’t hear a peep out of her, but if she wantssomething, she’ll tell you what, how and where she wants it! She is six poundsof sunshine.>>
<< Keira the cuddle girl was rescued from a neglecthome with her male Chihuahua matewho was too weak to survive. Keira is a curious baby that likes keep check onthe house by walking around and around. When you sit down she’s right there fora snuggle. She gets along with cats, small & big dogs. She would best beplaced in a calm adult home with another small dog companion. She is about 5years old and almost six pounds. She could stand to put on some weight. Update:Keira was abused and she sometimes thinks she’s going to be hurt before youtouch her so she yelps. She doesn’t bite but she reacts occasionally withyelping. We have done x-rays and found she has a spinal injury causing herdiscomfort. She is on anti-inflammatory meds.
