SPONSOR A DOG'S MEDICAL CARE

Thank you for visiting this page!

Over the years our focus has been for the love of dogs, many of which share their joys with you everyday! We continue to battle the endless need to rescue & rehabilitate dogs and we must have your ongoing support to save other lives and share further doggy joy!

Not all of our rescue dogs come in just needing basic vetting! Most of them need a dental cleaning at least and some need extensive testing to find out what they need to become healthy again. Below are the faces of neglect as they are rehabilitated.

Namaste was found on the street with a bad knee. The x-rays show that he has Luxsating Patella (twisted knee cap). We are asking for sponsorship to pay for his $1500 surgury.

Bianca was left in a garage for a 1 1/2 years! Her nails were grown into her paw pads. She was living in her feces which gave her a yeast infection she is being treated for. Both ears are infected and she was dehydrated! She also has puppy teeth that need to be removed.

Kobe came to us with his left eye filled with blood. The specialist feels the eye can be saved but he will not have any vision so he is on meds for both eyes. He as little vision around the cataract of the other eye. We are hoping to raise $1800 for his surgery to give him some vision. He also has had a dental cleaning with his basic vetting.

Gaveril came to us with grade three periodontal (gum) disease since his dental hygiene was neglected by his previous owner. He has received medication and full dental cleaning.

Savion has impacted baby teeth that wiil be removed, as well as hernia surgery along with his neuter.

Higgins had a double eye lash growing down into his both his eyes. This was irritating him and in time could have damaged his vision, so he had surgery to remove the second set of lashes.

Isis came to us with a bladder infection and bladder stones that required surgery. She is on medication and perscription food.

Before & After

<<Cleopatra was kept in a cat kennel for most of her short life. She and the kennel were infested with tics! She also suffers from a skin condition called Alopecia-X that is common in Pomeranians. We have tested her thyroid and skin to get her on the proper medication. She is also on a special diet.

Clydell Came to us from another rescue who saved his life from being euthanized at Animal Services. He has been treated for several bacterial infections that have left his body off balance. He has received full treatment with conventional medicine but has not come back to complete health, so he has started Holistic treatments that run about $150 per visit. He has undergone several blood tests with an array of other tests that have not found conclusive diagnosis of his condition.

Jael has been diagnosed with Heartworm Disease (transmitted by a mosquito), since her previous people did not have her on heartworm prevention. She will now endure a 3-4 months of heartworm treatment (between $600-$800). After treatment she will be healthy again and in time will be back to her normal energy level. Cammi~Mae is receiving various eye treatments to improve her vision. She has pigmentation growing over her eyes and we are hopeful the treatment will help her since she can see now and it has helped others in the past. She has also received a dental cleaning with extractions.

Ching has the onset of pigmentation over one eye that he is being treated for as well as the Demodex mange he had hair loss from. He is also being treated to help ease some behavioral challenges he’s encured during his life in a Puppymill.

Raji is a puppy mill survivor! Puppy mill dogs are usually euthanized when they can no longer produce puppies. At three years old, he didn’t have any teeth due to poor nutrition and oral bacteria. He was also suffering from a skin disorder that left him balding. Additionally, Raji has undergone behavioral rehabilitation that has relieved some of his fears and reactions.

Neiman has a rare blood disease that prohibits his blood from clotting, so his routine neuter became an extensive healing process. He was also on eye medications for his sighted and non-sighted eyes. Please see his PLEDGE

Bambino had suffered a hard life prior to rescue that has left him with a curved spine, three legs, degenerating cataract, and multiple infections. Due to the way his spine curves and how the front leg is amputated, he has a tendency to fall on his chin, giving him what X-rays show to be Temporomandibular Joint Syndrome (TMJ). His recovery is a process that continues post adoption.

Caesar has had several tests and X-rays to fiend out he has Cushing’s Disease, a heart murmur and a mild luxating patella. He is on prescription food and meds that GALPR is providing until Caesar’s body is balanced.

Rhett suffered a stroke and was treated with conventional and holistic medicine as well as behavioral management with a professional dog trainer.

Sterling had a mysterious skin fungus/infection covering his legs, part of his face, and back. It took months to treat.

Pasha came to us with skin problems and after X-rays and tests she needed intestinal surgery. She received subcutaneous fluids, injectable meds and prescription food to get her through her rehabilitation, post hospitalization.

Aneica's family neglected her and left her outside for four years! She had a skin infection, bladder infection, and bladder stone surgery was needed, as well as parasite treatment. She had to go through several tests and X-rays as well as medications with prescription food.

Kashi displayed a typical Chiatude (Chihuahua Attitude) with her nippiness and love for only one person, her foster mom. With various types of holistic therapies and socialization with pets and people, she became trusting and open to playing and receiving attention.

We would deeply appreciate your support in sponsoring our special needs dogs' medical care, ongoing tests, therapies and medications. We are a non profit 501(c) 3, foster-home-only organization, which exists solely on your donations and caring for each dog in our homes, beds and hearts.

Baxter had been kept in a crate with several dogs that fought over whatever food they were given. Baxter suffered scarring on his eyes and had extreme low self-esteem.  He was comatose for the first few weeks in foster care, not moving and rarely blinking. In time, he was able to walk around the house on a leash without cowering to the walls. Baxter eventually became secure enough to walk freely into the yard for play and potty time, as well as join the pack for feeding time!

Lexi, Casey & Lil' Lucy

Get A Life Pet Rescue co-foster-cared for these spinal injury girls providing various types of rehabilitation; Aqua, Acupressure, Acupuncture, Chiropractic, and homeopathic therapies. Lexi and Casey are running and Lexi has better control of her of her bowels. Li'l Lucy is still undergoing therapy. Please see her videos and story, Lil’ Lucy On The Move

Pal~Joey needed an extensive $900 gum surgery since his gums are growing over his teeth.

Bo needed daily medication to control seizures and regular blood work with monthly treatments.

Betsy received Heartworm treatments over a course of 3 months and is now healthy!

Tyler had a dislocated shoulder and has received two surgeries along with extensive tests and X-rays as part of his rehabilitation. Tyler’s Story

These are just some of the dogs that other rescues will not take due to the high cost and length of time to rehabilitate. We are asking for your support to benefit more dogs. We do not receive funding like the Humane Society, so please share our continual project with others so we all can take part in aiding the rescue cause!

BEFORE AFTER

Dylan was just about 3 pounds and left outside! He had a combination of skin conditions that left his skin extremely dry and terribly flaky.

During treatment, his fur began to grow back, and this is Dylan now, with his new family’s loving care!

Gia~Nicole had mammary tumors that hung and swayed as she walked.

The tumors were surgically removed and she now runs freely.

Neha came to us from animal services, only weighing 3 pounds with fur just on her ears.

Over a course of six months of being treated for demodex mange, she became a red-haired energetic fur baby.

Nyla was a lethargic, filthy matted mess that just needed better nutrition and TLC.

In a short time a playful girl emerged from what seemed to be the worn and withered previous body.

Lucy Lou was rescued from animal services with various parasites including heartworms. She was extremely emaciated, weighing in at 32 pounds!

Her rehabilitation took several months, and with the care of her foster Mom, this little girl went from struggling to keep her head up to a healthy and happy puppy!

Yogi was set to be euthanized at animal services just because no one had claimed him and his time was up.

After removing all of Yogi's ticks, and getting  him groomed and vetted, we learned he is a one year old Shih Tzu with a loving personality. A true diamond in the rough!

Kian was abandoned in a hotel with his pal Declan. They were extremely underweight and parasite--ridden.

Kian also had an enlarged prostate with fur loss. With treatment and nutrition, he regained his health and full apricot coat.

Maya was found wandering in a storm. She could barley walk with the matted fur binding her hind legs. Her fur had grown around her paws, covering the paw pads, and some of her nails had grown into her paw pads.

Most of Maya’s fur on her back was gone due to the fleas eating away at her. Once treated for her parasites and receiving proper nutrition, emerged this happy beautiful little girl.
